Our Christmas Musical

THE SONGS

We started of singing the songs about four weeks before the play. We had to learn the songs in little bits to make it simpler for the younger ones. Altogether for the second half of the play we learned six songs, (after a lot of practising). Apart from the songs for the play we also learned “Merry Christmas Everyone” and a nutty one called “On Christmas Dayayayayay”.   At the end we all had fun learning the songs.

PROPS & SPECIAL FX

On the 10th of Dec. 2008 we had our Christmas play. We had to make some special effects, props and scenery. The special effects were: a big spot light and a disco ball, midnight chimes and a LOUD offstage crash (all of our glockenspiel notes being dropped in a bucket!). The props were: a door, fireplace, Christmas tree, jack in the box’s box, stockings and mince pies. The scenery was a house. The play was fun.

Egyptian Feast!

17 12 2008

For the past few weeks we have been learning about the Egyptians. We learnt about what they did, what they ate , how they built Pyramids and how they survived every day life. On the last week the whole School had an Egyptian feast. You could try quail, mackerel, radish, aubergine, pomegranate seeds, bacon, dates, figs, puff pastries and grapes. For drinks you could try goat milk or ginger beer or if you didn’t like that you could have lemonade or water. In the end everyone loved it.

Newtonmore – Day 3

17 12 2008

On Wednesday morning we went climbing and abseiling. We hiked for twenty minutes up a hill with ropes and harnesses. Then we traversed along a wall for 5  minutes. When we got to the top we had a rest, then we had two choices we could do the easy climb or the harder one. Once everyone had a go we went to have lunch. After that we all did abseiling so once you abseiled down you had toclimb up again. It was really hard but we still had fun. Then we went back to the centre.

Christmas Panto Trip

17 12 2008

On Wednesday the 3rd of December we went on a pantomime trip. We went to the Kings Theatre, Glasgow, to see Cinderella.  To get there we had to go by train.  When we got there we walked to a church hall to have our lunch.  After lunch we walked to the Kings Theatre which was just across the road.

In the theatre we were sitting in the grand circle.  The panto was 2 hours long and there was an interval in the middle. It was very funny and silly. We Enjoyed being high up because we could see everything.

Afterwards, we went to De Maggios for our dinner.  The food was very tasty.

We went home on the train and arrived at 9pm.

Newtonmore Trip – Day 4

24 09 2008

Rafting

It took an hour to get to where we were going to start. Ben our instructor told us the commands we would have to know before we went onto the water. It took a while for people to get used to the paddling. There was a big rapid called The Washing Machine. The rapids were big and fast.

Disco

The disco was very loud and lots of funky lights. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Celtic day

8 11 2007

On Friday, the last day of term, it was Celtic day. We all dressed up as Celts. Then we went on the computer to find out about celtic houses. We had to build a house on the computer, it was fun. We made our own house out of willow bark and rushes. Then we went back to our classroom.
Then Cameron and Alfie told us a story about a Celtic myth. We sat on the floor around a pretend fire that the p7s had made. Then we got some food that we made before we had told the story. Then we started the story and so on we came to the end. It was 3o’clock and it was a fun day .We were all happy because it was the holiday.
