KPS Kidz

We had our world book day on the 1^st of March 2007. The theme was books from other countries or characters with a different nationality than our own. Lots of people came dressed up really well and it was really fun guessing what they were some of the costumes were Cowgirls, Aladdin, Zorro, Willy Wonka and Darth Vader. Mr Dickie came dressed as King Kong with the little doll and hairy feet but he didn’t actually have a suit. We wrote a story start on world book day. The primary 1-4 class  started it and then sent it to Colonsay. They sent it to Saint Kierens in Campeltown and then they sent it to Tayvallich and then it got sent back to the primary 5-7 in Kilchrenan and we finished it. The School Board are going to decide what the name should be out of the thoughts we came up with,  and which picture should be the front cover. The primary 4-7 class did banners to hang up in the class on one side it said the country and on the other side it said the country’s language.

 We’ve got our wormery at school. We have about 200-300 worms and they lay cocoons every week with about 5 or 6 eggs. Wow!

We learned about Heart-Start.  A woman called Angela McNeil came in and she was very kind.  She came twice on two Wednesdays. The first Wednesday we used a telephone which linked to another one in a different room and we would talk to each other and pretend we were phoning an ambulance. That week was about accidents when the people are still conscious. The second week was about the recovery position and unconscious people.   We learned that you can be unconscious but you can still be breathing.

Kitty & Gene

We have been learning about the Tudor Kings and Queens and we have made a time line of when they were born when they died and when they came to the thrown. (Ahem!- “throne” : Mr D)

Matthew & Alfie

 On Wednesday, Jodi and I went to the maths fest at Oban High School.We went in a mini bus with pupils from Taynuit & Dalmally Primary. When we got there we had to look at a sheet to see what teams we were in. Jodi and I were with Calum and Rod (people  who used to go to our school). We did puzzles that were written down on paper and some that were on a table.We had lunch at the cafeteria

and were allowed to look around the school at break time.We enjoyed it very much and can’t wait for next years!!!

Joy

At the creative day every one had fun most of them liked the building vehicles from the future and because our topic was the future. The primary sevens organised it all very well and they put a lot of hard work into it and it was a really good day and everyone enjoyed it and we are sure that the school and the people from Ardconnel enjoyed it because there are only two people in their school and they probably don’t have lots of big activities. Everybody had a good time at our creative day.

Jacinta & Ben

For the past few days we have been making things like boxes, candles, stockings and lots of other things for our coffee morning on Saturday so we can help the PTA raise money for the pantomime trip at Christmas and other places. Jacinta

   She’s a good jazz dancer. X

Barney-
   I like to play with Sarah. X

Mrs.Burrows-
   Sarah is a lovely mannered young lady. X

Mrs.Boyle-
   The school just isn’t the same without you Sarah.
    We miss your cheery smile. X

Rev.Millar-
   Sarah wrote good stories. X

Mrs.MacMillan-
   Sarah was a very caring young lady who liked too helping others. X

This week some people entered a swimming gala .
Alfie, Jodi,Joshua ,Ben,Matthew came 2nd in some races There is a small gala and there is a Lorn gala which is a big gala.If they are good enough they might get in to the big gala and they get 1 coaching lesson before some of the races.

The children in need party is this afternoon .We have to dress up as a chractor from a book, film,t elevision . If you dress up you have to pay a pound or more.There are going to be some games !

Sarah’s last day in Kilchrenan! A big “All The Best” from all of us in P5-7. We know you will really enjoy the new school, and that we will really miss you.

You’ve been a great friend to so many, a hard worker, and great fun. Still, you will be able to follow what we are up to through the blog. Hopefully we can encourage you to post a few comments.

In rafting I was one of the front people and when we went down a rapid i got really wet and it was great fun. We each had a paddle my paddle was taller than GP and me . We went down a big rapid and bumped into a raft the other team splashed us till .We were soaked! I screamed and attact with water
we were in a raft with Kristen and Jane . my favourite thing was canoeing and i was the front person . We went through a tunnel it was really big .We played a game were we had to point the front of our canoe to the mini bus ,fence,mountain or the trees and a friend almost tipped our canoe , it was scary!Some people wanted to tip their canoes.

In Abseiling i went 2nd it was soooooo scary !( i was 2nd out of the girls )
In Abseiling i did big jump and i went really fast down wards.And i hit off the wall ,i
had to lean back over the ledgh and i was really scared We had ropes and harneses and helmets for this activity . In Gorge walking I slid in and floated away with the current. Eventually I caught the rope.
